From the Principal

It has been a very busy year - I cannot believe another year has passed us by! As always, we have had a very hectic couple of weeks and I am sure everyone is looking forward to the holiday season.

We will have a few staff changes going into 2018.

Naomi Archer will be continuing in the role of Raising the Bar Coach – Literacy for the year, as well as undertaking her AST duties. Ann-Maree Mulcaster will be filling in for Naomi as AST during the first half of 2018.

Matt Hortle will be teaching part-time in 2018, to enable him to help care for his young family. Staffing to be advised.

Karen Thompson will be returning to work after a period of illness. She will be team teaching with Vina Bonner on the 3/4 class.

Anna Easther is transferring to Latrobe Primary School from the start of the 2018 school year. Anna has worked at Hillcrest for the last 7 years, in a variety of roles. I wish Anna all the best for the move to her new school and thank her for her service to our community. Good luck, Anna!

Linda Ellis has decided to retire at the end of this year. Linda has worked at Hillcrest for the last 23 years and has made an incredible contribution to the community during this time. Linda has worked with most students at the school and has been a positive influence for students, families and staff. I wish Linda all the best in her retirement – you will be missed, Linda!

Reminders

The school office will close at 4pm on Friday, December 22nd and re-open on Tuesday, January 23rd. Please do not come in to collect books or buy uniforms, etc until January 30/31. Book collection/levy payments and uniform sales will take place January 31th & 31st strictly from 9am -2pm in the school office. Please remember to bring your green levy sheet, which was in your child’s report, with you on the day. Allow enough time to check and update your validation forms which will be handed out on the day. You can pay your levies and uniform by cash, cheque or eftpos.

If you have any second hand uniform items in good shape that you won’t be needing, please consider either donating it to the school or bringing it in for us to sell on your behalf. We always have families looking for second hand uniforms!

There are a number of items in our lost and found basket in the office foyer. At the end of the year any school uniform left in the basket will be washed and put into our secondhand uniform cupboard for sale. Any other items will be donated to an op shop if not claimed by 4pm this Friday.

Enjoy your holidays and see you in 2018!
